The Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT), under the Screening Project for Advanced Cervical Cancer Awareness and Detection (SPACC), hosted a delegation from Dioraphte, a key funding partner of the initiative. The visiting team included Quinten Peelen and Robina from Dioraphte, accompanied by their policy advisor from Kenya, Cate Nyambura.

The team visited an outreach activity held at Karama Trading Centre in Kakindo Subcounty, Kakumiro District, where URDT staff were conducting community sensitization and cervical cancer screening sessions. The visit aimed to assess the progress and impact of the SPACC project, which focuses on raising awareness, improving early detection, and promoting preventive health practices among women in rural communities.

During the visit, the Dioraphte representatives commended URDT for its commitment to improving women’s health and empowering communities through education and service delivery. They expressed their appreciation for the visible progress made under the SPACC project and reaffirmed their continued support for both the initiative and other URDT-led programs.
URDT’s SPACC project continues to play a vital role in enhancing reproductive health awareness, increasing access to screening services, and reducing the risk of cervical cancer among women in Western Uganda.
