URDT uses a multi-pronged approach to support the rural communities to create sustainable suitable sources of income, food security and health.
This is done through:
- mini-estates project to support peasants to establish farmer lead primary societies and to promote value addition through agro-processing plants
- Epicenter programme to support community driven development through a public private partnership with sub-county leaders
- Training in Farming as a Business and other vocational training by the URDT Institute
- Training students at the URDT Girls School and its community schools in commercial farming
