URDT Girls School Chess

URDT Girls School primary became National Champions in their second appearance to the National Chess competitions.

This was during the Father Grimes National Chess championship held at Kings College Buddo in May 2019. During the same competitions, the secondary section became the 4^th out of 15 schools that participated in the tournament.

The school received a trophy and 12 medals: 6 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 2 bronze medals for primary teams and 1 golden medal to the coach for being the best coach.

An introductory session that was led by David Muwanguzi from Bank of Uganda enabled Students acquired financial literacy skills in creating income, savings, investment, and budget making. The school received 20 comic books for the school library and 20 charts for classroom displays.

URDT GS appreciates the contribution from SOM, URDT management, and partners who have created an impact on the students and to the other community schools in terms of their social life and their education.
