URDT has held a today workshop from 19th to 20th Feb 2019 with the 4 new epicenter managers (EMs) with the aim of Signing a Memorandum of Understanding between URDT and the Sub county counterparts in order to create a Private/Public Partnership (PPP). These Sub Counties include: Kagadi, Kisengwe, Birembo and Ndaiga.
Essentially URDT started with an aim of creating awareness in the communities, that they can create everything they want and not depend on Aid. As one way of achieving this, African Rural University (ARU) was started. ARU trains students for a period of 4 years (3 in classes and 1 year in the field) to become Rural Transformation Specialists (RTS). After graduation, URDT employs these graduates as Epicenter Managers (Ems). EMs are placed in different Sub Counties and they work closely with the community members through guiding them on how to create visions of the future they want, and in working towards achieving them.
